Country Walk - Pool-in-Wharfedale

Location: Pool-in-Wharefdale
Date: 29/03/15 @ 11:00 am

This fine circular walk, on the doorstep of many in the Leeds/Harrogate area, begins on the outskirts of Pool-in-Wharfedale and extends as far as the village of Huby.

The first stretch is along a lovely footpath by the River Wharfe, the surrounding fields and villages. First notable feature passed by the route is Arthington viaduct, a 21-arch sandstone bridge built in the 1840s.  The second is the well-known landmark of Almscliffe Crag, a millstone grit outcrop which comes into view at several points along the walk.
